History.

While our men’s side of the club was formed in 1973, the women’s side of Bay Area Rugby Club did not branch off until 2017 and has grown from a D3 team with a handful of active players to a strong D2 side. We compete in the Red River Rugby Conference (RRRC) of the Texas Rugby Union (TRU) against teams from Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and Round Rock. We play 15’s rugby during the fall and spring seasons and 7’s rugby in the summers. Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in the US and we are proud to contribute to that growth in the Houston Area.

Our club prides itself on values of inclusivity of all genders, sexual orientations, religion, and class. All interested players are welcome to join regardless of experience level, you just need to be at least 18 years of age. Every body is a rugby body.
